In the past week I've received almost exactly the same email from two "different" fake emails... they are sent as a 'form submission'.
One was sent to my business with 'Mel' claiming to be an illustrator and the other through my photo squarespace site claiming to be a photographer.
BEWARE! Do NOT click on any links sent to you in the bodies of these emails.
Sent via form submission from Tice Industries, Inc.
Name: Mel Day
Email Address: Megallery619@aol.com
Subject: Who gave you the rights to use my images for www.ticeindustries.com
without my permission! It's illegal! This is a violation of my rights! You must delete my images right now!!!
Message: Hi,
This is Melcia and I am a licensed illustrator.
I was confused, to put it nicely, when I recognised my images at your website. If you use a copyrighted image without an owner's license, you need to be aware that you could be sued by the copyright owner.
It's illegal to use stolen images and it's so сheap!
Here is this document with the links to my images you used at www.ticeindustries.com
and my earlier publications to get the evidence of my ownership.
Download it right now and check this out for yourself:
GOOGLE LINK REMOVED
If you don't get rid of the images mentioned in the file above during the next several days, I'll file a complaint against you to your hosting provider stating that my copyrights have been severely infringed and I am trying to protect my intellectual property.
And if it doesn't help, for damn sure I am going to report and sue you! And I will not bother myself to let you know of it in advance.
