As one who went from the 5DII to the 5DIV, the upgrade was substantial. The 5DIV improves on every aspect of the 5DII especially in IQ. You will not be disappointed. However, that said, the new R series looks every bit as good as the 5DIV and better in some areas. The Canon R looks to be a mirrorless version of the 5DIV and the new R5 looks like the the mirrorless version of what the 5DV would have looked like. If I were to update now, I think I would go with the R5. I haven't shot with one but it looks to be the better camera.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

The R shares basically the same sense as the 5d4, but isn’t up to the task in some situations where the 5d4 works well.

The R6 has two thirds the resolution of the 5d4.

The R5 has much more resolution with a hefty price tag.

"Man only has 5 senses, and sometimes not even that, so if they define the world, the universe, the dimensions of existence, and spirituality with just these limited senses, their view of what-is and what-can-be is very myopic indeed and they are doomed, now and forever."
