Help Tethering

I am having an awful time tethering my camera. I am using a Canon 60D with the latest firmware, Lightroom the latest version and updates. Every time I plug in the camera to the computer and try to snap an image the camera states its "busy" Things I have done to correct the issue. I uninstalled the Lightroom software, I checked Canon for update for the camera. I can unplug the camera from the computer and leave the tethering cable plugged into the camera and the camera will work. As soon as I plug it into the computer I get the "busy" I am pulling my hair out trying to fix this.

Apparently Lr is horrible for tethered shooting, I would use the Canon software or switch your editor to a more proficient one like Capture One..

It has been awhile since I tethered my 60D and used LR but I seem to remember that I used the Canon EOS utility and setup a “watched folder” in LR. Then use “auto import” in LR pointed to the watched folder.

I think I ultimately used a utility called CamRanger which is still available.

I use a Camranger so I don't have a cord.

Make sure the EOS Utility isn't running and trying to connect to the camera.

I think it was the fact that I needed to start Lightroom and then click tethering and allow the software to look for camera and then power on the camera. It is working great now!
