As far as I can find, the 100L IS is the sharpest macro lens for EF bodies. Is that correct? Not even the 100/2 Makro-planar is better? And nothing else has been released that performs better?

There actually is a lot that performs better, IMO, and that's just from Canon EOS R & EOS 5 (analog) with a gaggle of primes & 3 zooms, OM-D E-M1 Mk II & Pen-F with 10 primes, 6 zooms, 3 Metabones adapters/speedboosters, and an accessory plague
