Here is my CPU/GPU usage when Topaz DeNoise is rendering an image back to Lightroom. I have seen the GPU hit 90% for a second when Topaz is working.

I find that it also depends on the type of raw files. LR takes longer processing Fuji RAFs on my machine than Nikon NEFs.

I don't think so. I remember my XT1 raw files taking longer to process than my 5D3 files. Xtrans sensors use a different pixel layout than everyone else. I don't know if they're fundamentally more processor intensive to decode or whether Adobe's algorithm is just less efficient.
