Neither of those applications actually have any useful keyboard shortcuts to access even the most basic adjustments. That interface would drive me bananas - it would be interesting to count how many mouse clicks are required to perform even a basic edit on an image.

I watched the entire video - yikes. Skylum's approach to software is interesting, to say the least. It seems like they are doing just enough to confuse the user and hobble the AI app so people buy both - that's one way to prevent cannibalizing one's own customer base.

Well, as to buying both apps I don't know. It's well-known that Skylum has said that once Luminar AI is released (which it has), they will continue support of Luminar 4 for only one year... so the clock is ticking.

Luminar AI to me is just one more example on how marketing departments have taken over control of software development companies. In this case, they are just jumping all over the latest trendy thing which is to call everything AI (AI socks coming soon! ;-)a )

Yawn. Doesn't fool me, but hey... the AI label fools small minds so why not capitalize on it, steal money and get rich!

Buzzword bingo for the sales staff and poorly informed.

If it is “AI” it just “has” to be better.

Sheesh.

That's version 1. Version 2 AI?

Hey, AI I don't know how to operate a camera or even take a picture.
AI: "Don't worry about it. Point the camera at the ground and press that button thingie on it. We'll produce a beautiful landscape, portrait, whatever you want! You take your choice!"

I think there will be a very receptive audience for that. Folks who have no desire to spend the time or effort to develop editing skills could get pleasing results from Luminar AI with minimal effort, assuming the original image is not a piece of crap. It is not a tool that I and many others here would ever use but lots of people will probably love it.

You're probably right. Everything else in the world is being dumbed down, why not protography? Why bother learning a skill or talent when you can have somebody or something else do your thinking for you?

For many people it is not an important discipline and they just want pleasing looking images .
