Well, as soon as B&H opens their checkout function this evening, I'll be ordering the 5D MKIV.

I want to start getting into doing video (a lot of clients seem to want that), so I'm going to order a shoulder rig and a microphone, as well, along with a battery grip for my grotesquely enormous mitts. Okay, they're not grotesque, but I do have some big hands.

Merry Christmas to me, I guess!

Fantastic camera. You'll love it.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I've only ever bought two used bodies; a 20D and a 6D, and those were so I would have back-ups.

My little quirk is that, for my main rig, it's gotta' be brand new...

I’d be interested to know what drove you to make the purchase from B&H as opposed to Adorama? When you research the Adorama packages, one which includes a flash is the same price ($2500) as B&H. See https://www.adorama.com/ica5dm4fl.html (external link). Granted “there is no free lunch” but sometimes freebies are useful. Having said that I know nothing about the included flash.

While I cannot answer for the OP's reason, using the Payboo card at B&H provides an instant rebate on any sales tax. That can be a significant savings, depending on the tax rate in a buyer's state. In my case, I would save $150 on a $2,500 purchase. This service has changed my primary purchasing choice for new equipment to B&H from Adorama.

I've just always shopped there, both online and in person. I've found their customer service to be absolutely stellar. I place a very high value on that.

Not saying that other dealers don't offer the same, I've just had no reason to go anywhere else...
