I've only had prints done on metal for many years now. . Well, at least for stand-alone prints. . I do print on paper, but only on products such as calendars and greeting cards.
For several years I used AdoramaPix for my metal prints. . They did a fine job at the best prices I could find anywhere. . And shipping was always "free".
Sadly, about two years ago, AdoramaPix changed their name to Printique, and simultaneously jacked their prices way up. . And there is also an additional charge for shipping now. . The high quality metal prints are still great, but at almost double the price. . Their prices for metal prints used to be way way way below any other lab. . But now they are right there at the high price that almost all of the other labs charge, so I just don't use them anymore. . I liked that they offered at least 4 different finishes on their metal prints - glossy, matte, satin, and brushed aluminum, a.k.a. "silver". . I usually got my prints done in satin or matte, as I do not particularly care for glossy finishes for wall art.
Fine Art America now offers the best prices for metal prints, especially when you wait until their "25% off everything" sales. . And the price of the print includes shipping - which can be quite significant when ordering 40" or 48" metal prints! . I now use Fine Art America instead of AdoramaPix/Printique, solely because of the much better prices. Their quality is great, right there with AdoramaPix/Printique. . The one downside to using Fine Art America for metal prints is that they do not offer any options when it comes to the finish. . Their metal prints only come in glossy white. . A bummer, but at such a low price, I can't really complain. . To the best of y knowledge, they are the only lab that offers metal prints at a fair or reasonable price, in my opinion.
