Think the B&W captures the scene better than color would.

Thank you. Yes, this area is a palette of tans, golds, and a bit of olive drab. Add in harsh mid day sun and it all adds up to a great reason to switch to B/W.

I sometimes send my pix to regional ITV for the weather forecasters. They used this one tonight, which is quite satisfying. I've found that they tend to use what I think are relatively ordinary shots, but of course this one does show the weather, which is what it's all about. Grabbed this screenshot on my phone.
