Yeah I've been going back n fourth between the direct light at sunset vs. long exposures after sunset, using some of the reflected light, which can be a toss up depending upon what's going on with the horizon...
It's a fun chase! and thank you!! I have a high degree of gratitude for being lucky enough to live here for now...
Chris I'm not criticising trying to get "more even lighting", but one of the beautiful things I love about observing our landscapes is the range of light available across the landscape and how it can actually enhance the viewing.
One gets immersed in the topography as opposed to seeing a very nice picture in perfect light where all things are even, more even etc.
Light draped across the unfolding landscape in those special times when the light is playing its part really adds to the drama and appeal and reality.
I'm sure I'm probably preaching to the converted, or telling a grandmother how to suck eggs scenario
