I liked the way this shows how stark it can get, even off of a relatively warm coast. Cape Disappointment, SW corner of WA State

Looks like a great potential for bird opportunities. . Are you allowed to walk out on the jetty? . Yes, I know how dangerous that is ..... have lots of experience walking on jetties back in New Jersey.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

A reminder to all . . . there is a "Post your 2022 Landscapes" thread for all the new images, also under "Nature & Landscapes". May want to add to or change your Favorites tags.

.
Thanks for the reminder.

But it'll probably be quite some time before I shoot any landscapes in 2022, so for the next few months I will continue to go through the landscape shots I took in 2021 and post them here.

I think most of us who post to the forum post photos that we took at some point in the kinda distant past, so I think this thread will be very active for quite some time as we continue to post our 2021 favorites.

Nothing keeping you from it other than traction/weather. That was actually my original draw that day, as you can see that ALL of the Pelicans (Brown) were hanging out at the end. This was the end of what I felt was reasonably traversable; so I grabbed the shot as long as I was there.

I had my 13yo niece with me, waves were blasting up from the right and she’s not adjusted to her latest growth spurt yet…girl could trip on a concrete plate ߘ°ߘ. But, with some patience and scrambling, you could make your way to the end.

Thanks for the detailed info, Eric!

When I traverse jetties, I wear my heavy neoprene chest waders. . That way, when I do fall on the rocks, it doesn't hurt as much because of the heavy cushion. . I've taken some nasty falls on jetty rocks, but that's not going to stop me from trying to get good bird photos. . At least my gear has survived those falls, mostly unscathed. . It's all about priorities, and bird pics are certainly more important to me than my physical well-being!

Yeah; just be wary. Out there the worry is more falling ‘between’ the rocks or getting washed into the ocean, more so than falling on the rocks. If you’ve seen any of the great wave/lighthouse pics that get posted here, those are taken from the landward end of this jetty.

About 40 miles north of my house ...
between the small remote villages of Havillah and Chesaw ...
in northcentral Washington state ...
about 15 miles south of the United States / Canada border ...
at an elevation of about 4,400 feet above sea level.

.

So then just a little south of Molson. :)

Really like this one a lot! Framing and graduation top to bottom is a great combo.
