I have been using Canon cameras since the early 80s starting with an AE-1. I just upgraded to a 5D4 from my 5D Classic. The amount of features and customization is amazing. I have been searching for quite a while and finally found a local photographer who bought this camera new, but never really used it after switching to a mirrorless camera. The shutter count is just over 10,000 and she lowered the price to $1,700 with battery grip. I couldn't pass it up.

I plan on using mainly in my commercial real estate business. With the restrictions on showing property now due to COVID-19, virtual tours and large photo galleries are standard.

Thanks for your read. I just had to share my excitement in finally stepping into the modern age of photography and not using equipment that is a generation or two old.

.

Congrats on your acquisition of the 5D4!

I got a used 5D4 one year ago, and have used it as my main body ever since. . No regrets at all.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

One thing I always suggest when a used camera has been purchased is to download the manual and set the camera back to factory defaults. Clear any custome functions as well. If you do that, then your camera will behave like the manual says it will and you can customize as you see fit moving forward. Lastly, as you customize, takes notes. Perhaps it is my age, but when investigating behavior, it is nice to go back and see the changes I’ve made.

Congratulations, it's a fantastic camera.

I'll second John's suggestion of defaulting the settings.
My first outing with mine, it was set to variable ISO.
Imagine my surprise when I found ISO all over the place.

From day 1 when I got my 5D4, I already knew it would replace my 1D4 and 7D2, and it eventually did. I never even desired a 1DX or 1DX2 since either, the 5D4 is just so good as an all-around general use camera. Crop out a 1D4 FOV and you have more resolution that is cleaner and more detailed. It is at least 1 stop cleaner than the 7D2 and tracks as well once you set it up correctly (different settings than what I had on the 7D2). Even with the R6, it holds its own other than lack of eye AF. It is a great camera and only took 3 more generations past the really good 5D classic to get to that point. :)

I think it has been the best all around camera I have ever owned.

... and I've owned a few... :)

Note, it's the 1DXIII for sale, not the 5D4! ;)

my experience was from moving "up the ladder" from 5DM2-3-then 4

The 5DM4 was a great fit for me doing landscapes and indoor events. The 30mp sensor was a great tool for me. I have since moved on to the R5, but the truly silent shutter for indoor events like church services led me to make that move, Otherwise I would still be using it. My wife however, has inherited it and is very happy.
