Thanks, yes, both models got where they were going.

When posting, I started to think about how rubbery the use of "cross" is. Crossing a street means going from one side to the other. Crossing a bridge is used to mean going from one end to the other, although the dictionary I checked doesn't support this meaning. So the deer was crossing the creek but traversing the bridge–but "traverse" wouldn't fit this week's theme.
