My friend has forgot his user name and password so he cannot reset his account.
Any chance of sending him a password reset.

David.

His Email address is

David.

My thoughts are that you should have sent a private message to an Admin because putting your friends email in an open forum might give your friend some very unwelcome email he may not like receiving

I would suggest you remove his email from your post above as I did in my quote to you

At the bottom of any forum page here find "Member list". Click on that then find the drop down with "All who have posted" change that to "Admins and mods" for the list of the current moderators. Pick one or more of them to send the email address

David.

When both username and pass are not known there is no way to restore access. Better to create a new account, and if the old one is eventually found then report it to mods, as you may only have one account here.

Password recovery needs username and email.

To seek for the forgotten member name, check email account for mails from photography-on-the.net, or open search (top right corner on every page) and click "POSTS BY" for searching member names.

example: search posts by Pekka:

No need. Mods can see the email in edited post log.
But we really can not say if the email matches a username in our system or not, for security reasons.

If he's posted and can remember a post content or an image he's posted the search engine is very powerful.
Could he track it down that way? User name ie

Richard

David.

Maybe you and "your friend" communicated with one another via PM and you can find his username in your private messages or maybe you discussed something between yourselves in the open forum?

Well, there's a glass-half-full side to the story. It goes like this: By contributing the same idea I did, you showed that you thought it was a good idea. In this way, you did me a favor; you validated what I'd written. Good deed for the day!

Where I work, someone in management repeating an idea is generally a prelude to them taking credit for it.
The way you expressed it is a much more positive way of thinking about it.

My question is... Where's the poster board with my name in the list of names so I can stick the gold star beside it????:-P
