Mar 27, 2006 07:58 | #4 Good looking stuff. I will comment of the ones that I feel need some tweaking. In the first image the pose would be more interesting had she been angled into the frame from a corner rather than straight in from the side. If you draw a line in the middle of this image vertically and one horizontally, you will see that they intersect right between her eyes. In the second her eyes are centered. The rule of thirds states they should be 1/3rd of the way down which in this image would require cropping off the top of her head (which is permissable) or adding some to the lower portion of the image. Third image. I believe this image could be strengthened by moving her left arm toward the background and placing the hair trapped between her arm and her neck behind her. As it is the arm is straight up and down AND pointed straight toward the camera and I think is distracting. In couples portraits the rule is to try and have the eyes of the lower person level with the mouth of the upper person. That way when you crop the image to a head shot both will have a pleasing crop. In your image the crop is nice on her but 'long' on him. # 5, Really glad to see you watch for out of stray hairs and crooked necklaces, etc. Lots of times it isn't one big thing that spoils an image it is several 'little' things like a cooked necklace, some stray hairs, wrinkles in the clothing and unusual cropping. Keep it up! These look good and the gal is beautiful!
