Which lenses did you keep? Did you get any new ones?

It would take to long to list all the lenses I kept!
I still have all of the EF lenses I have had, with the exception that I sold a SIGMA 100-400mm that we bought for my wife for our Botswana trip a few years back, and no one has used since, and I sold the SIGMA 150-600mm, which I now regret as I never had a chance to try it on the R5.

Bodies I have parted with,
EOS R, completely made redundant by the R5
1DXIII (ditto)
Fuji XT1 (actually donating, no one wants to buy that kit even with the "make an offer" listing.) Again, replaced by first the R and then R5.

we still own a 7D2, but as my wife's 60D is loosing it's mirrorbox, this is now her camera. I can't see me ever picking it up now, since I have 5D4 and R5 for a two camera kit.

The only RF lens I have purchased so far is the 24-240mm. So far I am just loving my EF primes and 100-400mm II on the R5.

I sold my 1DX and bought a R6 and I am very happy with that exchange. I can't believe how good the R6 focusing system is and I like the floppy screen as well. I still have my 5DIV and it will see regular use for the times when I want higher resolution. At this point I think I will wait for the R5II before I replace the 5DIV.

If I get the R5, which seems more likely, I will get the 24-240, a good walk around lens. I am selling my 6Dii which I haven't used since getting a low-mileage 5DIV and would keep my 7Dii and 90D as I want to have a 3 camera set up for Hummingbirds with a remote. If I do get the R5 I was thinking it would replace the 5DIV as the 90D with my 150-600 gives me 960mm even better than the R5 and 800mm and f/7.1

In April I plan to rent one for a week or two to try it out!

My "final" thought on this, is in thinking about a possible R7. If it does come out and is 32.5 MP I would instantly buy it. But if it is only 20 then I will pass.

I would be very interested in an R7- More so then an R5....Price is a factor as well as ISO performance. Traditionally Crop sensors have always been more noise at higher ISO's....I would want to see files at higher iso's 6400-12800-25000 before i would make any commitment. But a crop thats clean would fit my needs better

I may be in the minority, but one of the reasons (main one really) that I will keep the 5d4 is the nostalgia. I had the first 5 series and the 5d4 is likely the last of the series. In fact it may be one of the last high end mirror designs from canon period. That and all the EF Zeiss glass that has served me so well over the years. Of course I can still use the body and the glass (even in the R5), but I would want to keep it even if I couldn’t.

I sold my 5Dm4 and bought R5. I am glad I did that. 5Dm4 was an excellent camera, but it was too big and heavy for me. It's probably great in a studio but inconvenient in everyday life. I noticed that I almost stopped using it. R5 is smaller and more lightweight (still there's room for improvement, though) and has great new features: AF, rotating screen, electronic shutter, fast fps.

I have large hands and wish the 5D4 was slightly longer, I use it with the battery grip due to it being a bit small for me. (large palms, average fingers), I am finding my 90D to be a bit small, wish it was more like my 5D and 5DIV LOL

I have the 5DIV and the original 5D, the 5D is my car camera so I always have it. Not sure if I would get rid of the 5DIV at this time but if I get the R7 it would my 7DII and 90D that would go.

on the noise from a 32.5mp APS-C I find that using Topaz AI Denoise seems to deal with it well

I have been watching your agonizing, so have I been. My 5D4 and 90D work well for my birds, although I wish the 90D had the 5D4's ability to have two different AF types on the two back buttons, then it would be the cats meow. The main reasons I was thinking of the R5 is one the 800mm, lighter than my 150-600 with my 90D, the Animal Eye AF and the faster FPS than the 5D4. One thing I have heard is that if you are shooting birds that are very small in the frame and close to a cluttered background, which is really the majority of my shooting that even the R5 can struggle with it and if the entire bird is the size of one AF point I heard they eye AF won't pickup the eye since the whole bird fits in the af point (that happens more than I care to think about because of where I have to shoot) As I have shown before I hate to get rid of cameras, although I think I might be letting the 6D2 go since my son has my old 70D and 80D and isn't really interested in FF.
I have all my old film cameras including Bell&Howell 70KRM's and US Navy marked Canon AE1 and Topcon.

I dumped all my Ef gear including 1dx3 as I could see the used prices for it tumbling.
I have not looked back and my RF 85 1.2 and RF 70-200 2.8 lenses are astonishing. That said, I wish I'd bought the 50 1.2 as opposed to the 85.

I can't find much, if anything, my R5 can't do as well as, if not better than a 1dx3.

For years I only had APS-C then added the 6DII and like FF for so many things. Added a used 5D classic for less than 200, great color and a camera I don't mind leaving in the car all the time. I then added the 5DIV and have now sold the 6DII.
I am hoping for a R7 with more than 30mp, 20mp to me would be a waste. But in the meantime still wondering whether to trade the 5DIV for a R5....

I am going to give myself grey hair agonizing over the decision. Thinking of renting one for a week or two although with the R5 and the adapter it is

Renting a R5 for a week with CF Express, reader, control ring adapter would be $320. I am going to do that in the beginning of April, nothing like hands on...
