Looking forward to trying it on my aviation photos where I didn't have enough FL and had to crop a lot. When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.

M_Six Cream of the Crop More info | Mar 13, 2021 22:06 | #6 I see one possible downside to this. I only post 1024x768 image sizes to my Flickr account with the (perhaps foolish) idea that anything that small can't really be printed out and sold commercially. This new PS enhancement might make it possible to enlarge images of that size enough to print them at a commercially viable size. I don't do much printing, so maybe that's still too small. Mark J.

That is a good point, I have some photos on Flickr that are 1200 pixels wide hoping to discourage image theft, I recently had to stop a couple of people on Ebay from selling 24” x 36” posters of my photos. I wonder if they used something like Gigapixel AI to up rez them.

Wonder how this compares to Topaz Gigapixel AI. I have seen a couple of comparisons of the two already, one was at Fstoppers but I don’t remember where the other one was.

My first reaction to this was wasn't Genuine Fractals doing this more than a decade ago, even if not as effectively? Of course, back when I first saw an ad for GF, a 'low resolution' camera was around three to four megapixels; now it's what, 16 to 20 megapixels.

Up-rezzing rendered digital images (JPG, TIF, what have you) has been around for longer than I have had digital cameras (22 years) Over the years we have seen an evolution of algorithms, from the primitive Nearest Neighbor to Bicubic, Lanczos, S-Spline, etc, but they all need to be fed a RENDERED image. Super Res works directly on Raw files and outputs a Raw file with the same edit metadata, so there is no break in the non-destructive chain. Elie / אלי

This is true, my own post was more reacting to the fact that many of the claims just sound so familiar, and that some seem to be eating up the claims. GEAR LIST
