LR auto adjust and a nearly washed out photo

I never would have thought LR could do so well with a single click. I was toying with exposure settings on the lawn sprinkler while the puppy played in the yard and snapped this one before I looked at the meter. 99% of the time I would delete that photo on the spot. The brightness histogram showed almost everything pushed well up against the right side.

Auto “Ain’t Bad” as they say. 100% close all the time, no. But most of the time it goes you in a nice place, which is a good thing.

I usually use auto adjust first and go on from there to adjust total exposure or shadows etc etc. Auto does very well . Most training material says you should just toy with each slider starting at the top and work your way down but that is a bunch of sliders. The exception is when to remove noise. Some say you should remove noise first and then do everything else. Don't color adjust noise or sharpen noise, get it out first. To each his own.
