Does anyone use this? Opinions?

I'm trying this out, along with other editors because I refuse to get into the Adobe subscription model. It was $50 and that's supposed to be a lifetime purchase.

Thanks

Steve

No DAM, IMHO very poor raw file conversion capability. It and Pixelmator Pro are very good at doing parallel things to what Photoshp can do.

I think it's a bargain.

All upgrades have been free so far in the 1.xxx series.
There may be a charge when they go to the 2.xxx series.

I agree that the raw converter is not the best out there.

It's currently on sale for half price, $24.

I just started a 90 day trial of it and really haven't gotten very far into it yet. What little I have tried seems to be on a par with Photoshop, but the raw conversion does seem to take forever. However, I do most of my editing in Lightroom, sometimes doing "edit in" in PS, so the raw processing's already done.

I'll probably buy the product after the trial, if only because of the price.

I used it for a while on the iPad but as one user above said the mobile integration and DAM is just so much better when using the LR app.

Probably not lifetime but I have never had to pay for an upgrade 3 years since purchasing. However, if they asked me to pay for an upgrade, I would! Their pricing is very reasonable and every year they get closer to Photoshop!

I'm trying it on MacBook Pro which I recovered from the fancy condo dumpster area.
Price is perfect match for it. So far it is OK. I'm not into deep editing, RAWs most of the time.

I have been using it for maybe two years now and It is one of the greatest bargain in the world today. If I was Photoshop I would be worried. It is amazing, problem free and what a deal.

I picked up both Luminar Ai and Affinity as I was looking for a pathway out of Adobe. Now that I am getting used to working with layers, I much prefer Affinity. Haven't even begun to explore all this software has to offer.

Hi, what is it in the raw conversion that doesn't please you gentlemen. I like it fine. It sure does a better job than LIghtroom 5.1 for me. I have several raw converters that I use. Maybe I am looking for the wrong thing. What should I look for?
I use Photoshop, Gimp with Darktable for conversion, Lightroom, Affinity Photo, some need more sharpening than others is what I've noticed. I like Affinity Photo best for the color adjustments, cloneing, object removal is really the best there is.
Some photo's I have up to 40 layers, great program. Didn't mean to ramble.

I just picked it on sale, mainly because I bought the iPad version and wanted to get a better feel for the program.

I don't see any real issues with the RAW converter. It's very basic but the output seem seems to be perfectly fine.

On the other hand, $10 is a bargain for a layer-capable, full blown editor on iPad.

One nice feature of AP is the ability to roll your own lens correction profiles using their built-in support for the LensFun database. Here is an example of a custom profile I cooked up for the Leica PC-Super-Angulon-R 1:2.8/28. This is a perspective control (PC) lens (a "shift" lens) that I use adapted to the Leica SL2, using a Novoflex adapter. The nice thing about how AP works is that you can convert the raw file outside of AP and then bring the resulting RGB image into AP and use the Develop persona to apply the custom profile - you do not need to use AP on the raw file during raw conversion to do the correction.

As a commercial user of Photoshop for many years (and also someone who hates the Adobe subscription platform) I've been using Affinity since it came out, excellent program. And the price is unbeatable. I use their entire suite for graphic design purposes (paid work). It's not hard to convert to Affinity if you know Photoshop, lots of tutorials on youtube for that.

I'm converting quite a few of my commercial clients into Affinity as well, it's surprisingly well-known in commercial studios these days.

It doesn't have a DAM unfortunately, but that really isn't a problem for me. RAW conversion is fine as far as I'm concerned as well.

I downloaded the trial and been watching youtube tutorials, so far it works like PS so I paid for the software. $25 is a real bargain.
