I may have a milky way / aurora opportunity this weekend, for a friend and I. I have not had the chance to do anything astro related yet, and this seems like a big deal... Until, I realize that based on my equipment, one of us will be stuck with F4. We can share, but there will be a lot of F4. And not enough time to resolve the problem with money (second EF to R adaptor).
So do I just bang away at high ISO and spend extra time in front of the computer? The concept of the fast lens is clear, it's just not going to happen at this time. Is it going to be so bad that won't be able to recover in software? In my mind, I see 20,000 ISO being similar to the nebulae I intend to capture.
