My friend's toddler loves to walk and run around our fenced in property with Serena, our 4-month old Great Pyrenees puppy. The pup is great on a lead, even when the other end of the lead is being held by a toddler that weighs less than the pup's 40-pounds. The Pyr walks and runs when the little girl walks and runs but, she stops immediately when the toddler stops.

IMO it is really necessary to train a big dog early-on. We expect Serena to reach between 80 and 100 pouds at ful growth.

The puppy has already learned to sit for her food and treats,,,

Speaking as a non-dog owner (cats in my case) I appreciate that you will have a dog that doesn't bowl people over even in friendliness when you meet people on public walks. Lovely kind-looking doggie!
