Trying to use the new "Enhance Features" when opening a raw file from Adobe Canon Raw within Photoshop. Every time I try it crashes and generates the attached crash report.

System is an Acer Aspire TC-780, Intel i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70 Gh, 8 GB of RAM and Windows 10.

Anyone have a similar issue or have any ideas?

Thanks.

8GB of RAM is the bare minimum to run Photoshop, and you really need more to run such processor-intensive features like this.

How big is your hard drive and how much of it is free space?

I have Photoshop mounted on an internal SSD - 500 GB of which 300 GB is free. Main disk is 4 TB of which 1.5 TB is free.

Which one is your scratch disk pointing to? (Both would be best, I guess.)

Damien - I'm not sure what you mean by "scratch disk"? But I now have an update. I updated Photoshop and now the enhance feature does not cause a crash, but it does create weird artifacts on the enhanced DNG (see example attached).

Any ideas?

It was set to the C drive - normal disk. I switched to the internal SSD but no difference.

Check to see if your video card drivers are up to date, as this is often a solution for Windows when such problems arise.

Kirk:

Updating the driver did the trick - thank you. The enhance feature is amazing. Converted a 20 MP photo to 80 MP. Amazing.
