Hello - This rare bird has been in my yard for over a week. People from 4 states so far here visiting. The barnacle goose is from Greenland. His hallux are intact. Normally captive birds have the hallux clipped. Check out the youtube video - wow babies jump off 100ft cliff.

Thanks for looking!

I chased that bird from Northern Michigan that included thick lake effect snow during the drive.

Lifer! Fun to get a new bird even though my photos were further away.

You got some killer shots. Congrats.

Keep 'em flying,
Greg B

We started calling our visitor "Bandit" and so far we have had visitors from 7 states. The furthest visitor was Nebraska. I have enjoyed all my visitors and welcome them when possible.

Bandit is still here and I think that is because I am an avid bird feeder. The birds outside still follow me around the yard at feeding times. I had two gadwalls over winter here. There is still one that is a frequent visitor.

I am in the process of collecting feathers for DNR to investigate Bandit's origins.

Thanks for looking!

Feeding also attracts another kind of visitor. This one thru the glass (it was way too cold to open the window and it happened way too fast). I had never before seen a baldie take a duck. This was right after I came inside.

Bandit stays here because of the resident birds.

Thanks for the story of the bird. Very fun. I see the theater in one photo from where I took my photo of Bandit.

Keep 'em flying,
