I have been watching A LOT of videos on YouTube since going back to shooting film. I've been shooting digital in full manual mode so really was only looking to learn about new film stocks & familiarize myself with some old ones, as I haven't shot film in about 12 years. The number of youtubers that are shooting with cameras that cost 1000s of dollars is crazy!! I can't tell you how many shoot with Leica or Contax (a freaking $3,000 point & shoot). You're not a photographer unless you shoot film. You're not a SERIOUS photographer unless you shoot Leica. What a joke. I leave comments on these videos but get no replies, just fanboys agreeing that $6,000 for a camera that can only shoot in B&W is soooo worth it. The latest video was a young lady telling us that her new $10,000 Leica is worth it "just by the way it feels in my hands." And, of course, the replies echo her thoughts. My favorite videos are the ones where they spend 5 minutes complaining about the cost of film then proceed to load it into $7,000, 50 year old Leica.
Reminds me of how some people view Apple. We've all seen those videos where someone takes an old flip phone & covers it with Apple logos and the people say it was "cool & retro". LOL.
