I'm assuming this is 12pm CEST, which is equivalent to 3am PDT?

I guess I'm getting up super early that day to pre-order the EOS R3.

Take off work that day, invite friends over and have an unveiling party! ;-)a

When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.
When you see my photos you'll know that I'm not.

Is anyone hoping this camera to not feature a 29:59 recording limit?

That won’t change… it is a legal or regulatory threshold, not a technical limitation.

No. It used to be related to tariffs for video cameras going past the 30 minute mark, but that has been done away with, so Canon no longer has that to hide behind. Now it's just so they can sell their video cameras that have no recording limits.

I think if you use an atmos device, there is no video limit. So you don’t have to buy a canon video camera. ;)

If it is so then Sony must be following a different set of laws :-)

And how much does that cost? Another $600? Plus memory cards, cables, etc?

I suspect the sticker shock on this R3 will be a helluva jolt.

I think if you use an atomos device, there is no video limit. So you don’t have to buy a canon video camera. ;)

That's what I do. The Atomos recorder is the only way for me to record continuously for anything longer than 29 minutes.
