Trying to remove parts of a progran that was un-installed with Revo-Uninstaller.
Usually does a good job of removing but part of this program still show up in registry.

Registry editor allowed the removal of some keys.

But this particular location will not let me.
I go to folder and click on program to remove in right side pane,
choose delete and get error message ... "Unable To Delete All Specifies Values"

This is the folder / file location. ( image attached also )
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\bam\State\UserSettings\S-1-5-21-2832671956-1348298321-2611920294-1001

My question is :

I will first create a restore point and export / save all of registry.

Export that particular folder.
Open in notepad and remove the line with that program and save.
Then import back to registry.

Anyone see a problem with trying that ?

That very much resembles an entry associated with a specific profile and the SID 5-1-5-21 isusually an administrator account.

IF so, and to identify which profile do the following:

1. Open the Windows Registry Editor.

2. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList.

3. Select each folder individually and look at the ProfileImagePath key to identify the user profile associated with the selected folder.

The image below shows my profile using the steps above. Once you identify the profile then you can decide on whether you want to delete the profile, which can be risky.

Considering that John used the word risky, if that lone entry is all that remains and it doesn't cause an issue, personally I would just leave it be.

Turned out to be a permissions issue for that folder.

Once that was set correctly ... I removed the line I wanted to remove.

Thanks for the replies.

There's a Superuser permission utility that's easy to use, called
Take Ownership, which I have used since Windows 7.
It comes from tenforums.com, is a registry entry,
and still works well for me in a Win10 environment.
Right-click->Take Ownership->Done.

https://www.tenforums.com …xt-menu-windows-10-a.html (external link)

It's really a must-have if you want some control over your system's files.
