How many professional/business head shots would you provide in a standard in-studio session?

I have been researching what other photographers do and I see many offering 25+ edited images for $100-$150.

Maybe it's just me, and sometimes it is, but that seems a bit absurd to me. For that price range I'm thinking anywhere from 1 to 5, max. Probably 2-3 ideal.

Thoughts?

Depending what the client is looking for in the shoot .... 2 - 5, but all 5 need to be solid. That's for a not that sophisticated or demanding client, i.e. corporate executive. Some clients are more sophisticated and would like to explore some subtle differences in looks, i.e. actor, celebrity. That's a different scope of work and is priced accordingly.

Oh yeah, if it were an actor or a musician I could easily see 25 or so. I'm thinking professional, like corporate. Probably 2 or 3, 5 absolute max, and only if some were indoors and "formal" and some were on a job site highlighting what they do, or something like that.
