One of my all time favorites to photograph, just have not seen to many lately. Drove about 1 1/2 hours to find him.

Great shot. Saw one earlier this month near Venice-a bucket list species for me. Wasn't able to get pictures due to traffic, but I saw one. Great trip.

They can be found east (inland) of Venice and other west coast locations in Florida. I shot this at Dinner Island WMA in Clewiston, FL. A bit of a drive for me,
but the rewards are quite worth it. There are the Caracara, Red Shoulder Hawk, Bared Owls as welll as many other species available in nice numbers.

I used to see them east of Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres all the way to Clewiston and beyond. Also at Viera Wetlands on the east coast. I moved away, so I'm not current.
