The winners were :

1) RDWP - 14 points
2) Trumper - 10 points
3) Stiga - 9 points

- and everyone collected some votes :-)

Thanks all for playing. :-P I enjoyed seeing the ways that cropping can improve the original or even make a new interpretation.

What's next?

Congratulations to those three and thanks to Nix. I too liked seeing the difference that cropping makes. Having won the challenge last time, I stepped back this time. But here's a recent shot where cropping turned a crowded, blah image into one with more of a subject.

Thank you - and congratulation to Trumper and Stiga. A great crop of crops from all competitors (Nix and OhLook too). Thanks, Nic, for the topic.

Next challenge is posted at https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1521516. See you there.

Congratulations to RDWP, Trumper, and Stiga! Great entries. Really fun challenge Nic…loved the responses! Well done!

My photo was from our son Jimmy’s wedding…last Saturday he and Nicole celebrated their 11th Anniversary. I was doing wedding photography at the time but they wouldn’t let me shoot theirs as I had a part in the ceremony. But I managed to sneak in my G11 and grabbed a couple of hundred shots anyway! :-)

:) Well done to everyone and congrats to RDWP. I tend to use my phone now for wider shots and am pleased with the way they turn out .I use my dslr and zoom lens for the more distant stuff.

Very true. I also find the phone better for high contrast shots, family, indoors, and evening/night shots. Hmmmm - as you say, that leaves the zoom for my Canon
