The local fox family had 9 babies this year. Unlike I've seen before, 7 of them are one size, and 2 of them are runts. Hoping they all make it OK, it's a big family and only Mom is contributing to feeding them, unlike some other years when the male helped out too.

Wow, posted 5 hours ago, just 19 views, 1 like and no comments. How POTN changed…

A beautiful series, Ian. So many babies to raise will take its toll on mom, no doubt.

I've always loved Ian's fox family pictures. This year's batch doesn't disappoint.

Beautiful little creatures.
They are rather endearing :-)
Lovely series. Light is very nice.

More to come? :-P

Hi Levina, yes I’m saddened by how POTN seems to have slid into a non participative site. It’s largely why I’m just a fleeting visitor, but I still want to share the odd thing. I appreciate hearing from you!

Thanks very much. Yes I’ll hopefully follow this family to the point where they head out on their own, and will post the odd thing from time to time.

Outstanding shots. These all look to be in great condition and I hope they stay that way. Very tough with only 1 adult hunting to feed so many of them. When healthy they are just a beautiful animal.

Thanks very much! As iot turns out, Dad is also helping out, although I haven;t seen him. Both parents are very elusive. Over time perhaps they'll be more agreeable ;-)a.

Been out birding a fair bit as my son just finished most of his AP exams and we have some free weekends now, so didn't see this thread earlier.

Top notch stuff as always, Ian! I always look forward to your fox and eagle shots!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
