A lot of times what I had wasn't the limits to what I could do but it was the "Operator" that was the limit. The only real exception I found was in Birds in flight, and I still can't Get that with any regular success. Succesful BiF photography is a combination of correct settings, technique and practice. Start with the larger water birds (Herons, Egrets, geese, swans etc) which are fairly common and are all slow fliers which don't tend to change direction suddenly.
