Succesful BiF photography is a combination of correct settings, technique and practice. Start with the larger water birds (Herons, Egrets, geese, swans etc) which are fairly common and are all slow fliers which don't tend to change direction suddenly.

Good advice. All I see these days where I live are pigeons and they are even slower.
