Heh, I like it but I don't know why. Terribly boring subject but very cool image. Nicely done.

I love this quote by Weston

Great shot! Reminds me of some of the fire water plumbing at the paper mill where I used to work.

TYGER TYGER...

The Auckland Zoo has finally got a couple of tigers, but they are quite hard to photograph and see because of their reclusive nature and the barriers put up around their enclosure - much is obscured by vegetation and that's where they tend to stay.

However, a couple of days or so I caught one in full view, looking down on me from an overhead walkway. It was obscured by a heavy chain fence, but I have managed to extend my PP skills to remove that so we can see the nature of the beast, without the intrusion of our structures.

The intensity of the gaze made my mind connect to the first/last verses of William Blake's poem, which I learnt as a child:

"All the beauty of life is made up of light and shadow", Leo Tolstoy;
"Skill in photography is acquired by practice and not by purchase" Percy W. Harris
We aren't remembered for the gear we use, rather the quality of the images we create. Me: Trevor...

Many thanks. I'm keeping the nifty fifty busy at the moment. I love this little lens, but I think I've said that here before. :-)

Thanks, Terry. It was raining - again - and the door of a little gas place was open. Gas for heating homes, not petrol. Never seen inside it before but I've passed it a thousand times. - Terry
