A pretty fox, a dark variant of a red fox (with a white tipped tail) was trundling across a road and then a field with his prize of the day, someone's free range white chicken. The family will eat tonight.

Great images of a real nice looking fox Ian, although I'm feeling for the owner of the chicken a bit as only yesterday right in the middle of a storm at lunch time a fox got into our duck enclosure and made of with the last two ducks, no sign of a struggle just gone :(

Thanks very much for your comment. Yes I had a bit of grumbling from chicken owners here when I posted a couple of these on Facebook. Lots of people here like to have their chickens free range, but there's also lots of foxes around.
