I am trying to decide if I should scrap Topaz DeNoise AI and go with ON1.
I realize the ON1 app is not out until mid-late June.
The problem is the current coupon expires before then, so the decision to scrap topaz and go with ON1 has to be made before then.
I have done comparison research and can find nothing.
I'm hoping somebody has experience with, seen or beta tested the ON1 app and can give advice on which is best.

I'm sorry, but I know nothing about ON1, and have never even heard of it. . So, I cannot help you with your question.

But perhaps you can help me with my question:

What is it about Topaz DeNoise that causes you to consider scrapping it?

I used a trial version of Topaz DeNoise and thought that it worked well. . Ever since the free trial expired, I have been thinking of paying for the full version.

But now that I see that you are thinking about scrapping it, that causes me to think that maybe there is something about it that you are displeased with, and that of course causes me to think that maybe there is something less-than-ideal about it. . Whatever it is that you dislike so much that you would consider scrapping it, is something that I would like to know about, so that I can make a more informed decision about whether I should pay for it or not.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Hi,

On1 is one of the slowest software suites. I've had it since 2019. I'm not updating anymore. It's abysmally slow software even on a powerful workstation. It's poorly coded is my guess, for efficiency. It's ok software. I got it primarily for RAW editing and I still use it for that. But the rest, well, leaves a lot to be desired.

Topaz is still one of the best denoise softwares out there. I still use it. Nothing has matched it yet in my purposes.

I'm using Affinity Photo more often these days, it's been a good alternative to Photoshop and On1. It's not perfect either though. But faster than On1 so far.

Very best,

I do not think it works well. Yes, it denoises well but is splotchy - other parts of the image are not equally denoised.
The masking functions are lousy.
The interface is clunky and now that they have added the new Extreme Noise (or whatever) option, it's even worse.
It seem to add some degree of sharpening, even if not wanted. Yes, most of the time when denoising an image sharpening is applied BUT that should be up to the user. Topaz doesn't seem to allow it to be turned all the way off.
It is slow

Very best,

Funny, I don't find it slow. However, I never develop RAWs with it and I never use it as a standalone. But my subject question here is about NoNoise, not ON1 Photo Raw.

Good analysis / comparison between the ON1. Topaz and DXO AI denoising products.
Seemed comprehensive and fair. Worth the 21 minutes if you desire to know.

I use noiseware and I haven't found anything to compete with it either after having used a myriad of things. I use it as a base filter and add my own touches/filters around it to process out 1-2 stops of noise in my images.

Really an extreme case here, but seating was limited and lighting was whatever it was for this indoor venue for graduation this year, so here is the 100 view and then a 100% crop processed with noiseware and a few extra filters. This girl of ours is now in week 1 of 10 weeks of basic training, and then goes onto her internment training after that. She has been gone for 2 weeks and will be gone almost an additional 4 months. :(
