Hi Peter...

Beautiful portrait of this owl. Nice soft light, sharp focus, a great perch and a wonderful pose...doesn't get much better than that.

Good to see you posting.

Tom

Thank you so much Tom I appreciate it.

Having, very quickly, got bored with cleaning the patio I sat down with my camera to watch the bird activity in the garden this afternoon. Robin and a young Coal Tit I think.

Great shot, Tom! I love that curious look, as in this shot, that we sometimes are able to capture with our bird photos.

Don't be fooled by the mundanity of these photos: I had to defy death to take them. The goslings were rather cool about my being there to take photos, but the adults were of another mind altogether, and they were clearly tense about my presence, running after me a few times, and honking threateningly on a few occasions (even when they were the ones who got close and i wasn't even moving). Once, I even had kinda of a Mexican standoff with the adult geese, and one goose just flapped their wings unexpectedly and flew off. At that point, if it had been a real standoff with firearms, I sure would be lying dead in the street right now ;)
