I'm starting to like shooting animals more and more and was thinking about getting something longer than my primes. ![]() It is a fine lens. I shot with it on my R5 quite a while, and then I got the RF100-500. Price used here in US is maybe 55-60% a new 100-500. I have one I'm selling, but not to the UK. Dave

I'm starting to like shooting animals more and more and was thinking about getting something longer than my primes. ![]() Chris,I don't think that you can go wrong with the Canon EF 100-400 II. It has been a standard for so many of us bird shooters for a lot of years. I frequently use it with my R5. When I bought my R5, I also purchased the Canon 100-500 RF lens. In all honesty, the 100-500 is my favorite of the the two zoom lenses. It's a very sharp lens, plus it is substantially lighter than the 100-400. LD, or Mike

Both of these are shoot at 1000mm. I bought the 2.x after being really impressed with the RF 1.4x I'm impressed with your results of using the 2xTC on your RF 100-500. The only time I've had any luck with the 2xTC, is when I'm using a prime lens. LD, or Mike

The cygnet walked towards me to the point I got concerned the parents might decide to take aggressive action towards me. But it just turned and walked away and they left shortly. ![]() ![]() The family shot and the one of the cygnet are really nice, Neal! Swans are such photogenic birds. Their graceful lines make them so appealing Nice shot of the two mallard hens, fotoi! A lot of vivid colors in this photo. Your beautiful photo really show what an attractive bird the male house sparrow is, Tom! And this attractive setting adds to the overall appeal. Steve, there is a very attractive style to your photography! I can almost always recognize your images before I ever see your name. The poses you manage to capture, makes your photos come to life. Both these shots of the common yellowthroat are quite stunning. BlueTraveler wrote in post #19392591 Great Horned Owl at first light. Sonoran Desert, Scottsdale, AZ.
