This pair of Whistlers were escorting 22 Babies! I read that they often combine families together. Happy trails. I see Canada geese combining babies quite often, just like Whistlers. I wonder how they figure out who's turn it is to babysit LD, or Mike

I was surprised to see Mourning...the one you've got here looks so much slimmer and longer than ours. Many thanks, Steve. This dove was nervous about my presence. If it had been more relaxed, the bird's feathers would have been less compressed, and the dove would have had a bit more of a stocky appearance. LD, or Mike

Mike, I looked at that photo and hadn't got round to comment yet.

Lame-Duck I have indeed had pine nuts More info | Aug 18, 2022 01:23 | #17348 realairlight wrote in post #19416762 Great shot, LD! It looks big. Never saw this kind of dove, thanks for sharing. Thank you very much RAL. The mourning dove is a common dove here in the US. I'm so use to seeing them daily because they are everywhere, at least in the area that I live. I would not call them a large bird. Compared to a rock pigeon, they are considerably smaller. They are also a little bit smaller that the Eurasian collard dove. LD, or Mike
