Blackish in plumage, with a bluish gloss on the back and a white tail tip. Note the wide red eye-ring, the yellow bill with red at the base, and the shaggy red crest from the crown. Forages in vine tangles for insects and other animal prey. Similar in size and shape to Scale-feathered Malkoha, but Red-crested lacks the obvious white hood. Call is a sharp “jok!” Source: https://ebird.org …ecmal1?siteLanguage=en_PH Location: https://www.google.com …2!3d14.0975876!4d121.2581 Pretty image

They live in tree hollows used by our true native birds as well as eat nestlings, small animals etc I know these Laughing Kookaburra are unwelcome imports to Tasmania, but they are such cool looking birds. This shot is really nicely photographed, Richard! I like the old weathered fence, and the lovely green background. Oh man, fotoi...what a beautifully captured drake wigeon. You definitely get 5 stars for this amazing shot! And the colors are outstanding! What an amazingly beautiful warbler, Steve! Your image certainly does him justice!
