You've surely been able to get some fantastic shots of whistling ducks and their ducklings. I'm amazed at the size of this duck's brood. I'm wondering if she adopted some of them. Both of these images are really great, Paul!

Indeed he is a handsome fellow, fotoi! Great shot! Excellent sharpness and color!

Very nice, Rich. No noise in this shot. What program did you go with?

Wow...fantastic shots, Steve. Number 1 gets my vote.

Super nice shot, Rob! Were you swimming next to this little guy?:-P

Very cool shot, Rob! I love the pattern of the water spray. You timed it perfectly.

Wonderful shot, Richard! It sorta looks like she's on a diving board, getting ready to jump into the water.

Beautiful shot, Adam!

Hi Mike--thanks for the compliment. I used On1 "No Noise AI". This was my first time using it and it was straight forward and easy to use. I am hooked -- for me this works fabulously!

North Creek Commons--I finally got some shots at a location with nice bokeh and good perches for the birds. I have been going to this location for about 6 weeks and finally on Monday the birds were very agreeable.

What a great experience. Trust owl was okay. Looked a bit vulnerable perched up there in the open.
Beautifully photographed with lovely colour and detail in the plumage
Very nice indeed

Thanks, Richard, for your generous comments! Yes, truly a great experience and I'm sure the juvenile is fine. Adults don't always show up immediately, but I know they've been taking excellent care of their two fledglings, bringing them snakes and rodents and sometimes feeding them as they sit on one branch.

After ~1 hr of non-productive begging calls and hopping from one snag to another looking for adults, this juvie Barred dropped to sleep as if turning off a light.

Thanks so much, Mike! I came away with a bunch of keepers, but, like you, Number 1 is one of my favorites.

Both of these shots are really nice, Rich! The close-up shot sure held the sharpness and detail beautifully.
