I really like this shot of the osprey, Kirk! I've honestly never seen an osprey perched on a street signal light. One quick question; "does this guy wait for the green light before taking off"?:-P

I noticed on your second shot (the snowy egret) that the egret has an overall pink look to it. Did you intend for the bird to be colored in this way?

That's a beauty! We had one up here on Cape Cod which caused quite a stir! Birders came from all over and of course I get there one day too late and he was never seen again!

Thanks, Mike, I appreciate the compliments. To answer your question, he does wait for the green light before taking off. Anna maria Island is a small speed trap town with one light with small town police that have to get their quota of tickets, or they don't get promoted. :-P (Just kidding, Anna Maria Island is a great place with great police.)
As for the second question, the picture was taken during the golden hour and the sun was red a brilliant red and making everything look different. With white birds, that light gave them that pink tint. It's absolutely beautiful to see it with the naked eye. I'll never leave here.

Eurasian teal

Manny, this is a beautiful teal shot! Very nicely photographed. Question...why do you call this teal a Eurasian Teal instead of a Green-winged teal? I ask this because it has the vertical white line marking found with green-winged teal. The Eurasian teal lack this white vertical marking, but instead have the white marking running along their backs. It is very easy to mistake these two species of teal. I've done it many times, myself.

Thanks very much Mike, I just did a quick internet check when identifying the bird. I've changed it to its proper name. :-)
