Dec 22, 2022 15:36 | #21439 kd_reno wrote in post #19458952 Thanks. Kinlgets are so small and quick I'm happy any time I can get a shot, and the crown is an extra treat. The hawk is a tough one. We saw it chasing some sparrows, so we got a good idea of size in the field. In that image the tail does look a bit long and round, suggesting Cooper's, but it looked very square when it first landed. The head looks very round to me. Cooper's usually, but not always, show a more square head with a flatter top. This bird has a very strong white eye-brow line, more common with Sharpies. I've got another shot with a partial view of the legs, which look skinny to me. Unfortunately, no shots of the front. I'm sticking with Sharpy, but I'm reducing my confidence level to 75% .Hmm..that's a tough one. I think you maybe right thinking it's a Sharpie, the coopers seem to have a flatter shape to the top of the head as you stated this one is really rounded. Regarding the white eyebrow I have seen this on Coopers as well in their immature stages. Sharpie of Coopers, its a fine shot just the same. Sony A1, A7R2

I think the overcast sky is a similar background to many of Audubon's artworks, and that may account for the resemblance. Nice company to be compared to though. kd_reno wrote in post #19459039 Nice shot Tom. Did the male bring the lizard to her? Hi Ken...Thanks. Don't know which one did the hunting, but she had the lizard when I spotted them. Thanks Mike for the comment...much appreciated. “The sound of birds stops the noise in my mind.” - Carly Simon

They appear very 3d like and with the eagle on the right I'm seeing something unnatural under its tailfeathers. Thank you... Difficult angle/obstructed view to capture both of them framed properly, we all run into those situations. I could only capture them to the most left of frame, in post I moved them to center. It was a 1344 mm capture Lame-Duck wrote in post #19458768 Beautiful capture of these two Bald Eagles, Joe! I really like the cloud affect. sogs wrote in post #19458879 That's a beauty!
