Nice!! I love that place. I was there recently for the first time in a few years, it's just wonderful.

I ride my electric bike around there from time to time, it's a nice ride around the whole place but I really like North Beach the best for bird shots.

Very nicely composed, and beautifully captured, Jose! I've never seen a gyrfalcon in the gray phase. They are beautiful.

That's really a beautiful kingfisher, Steve. Wonderful capture!

Beautiful snowy egret shot, Kirk! Love that morning light.

Great capture, jmac! Tack sharp image.

Terrific hen mallard shot, fotoi, Great color.

Fantastic capture of this American Kestrel couple, Tom!

Thank you very much, Mike.

Nice shot Tom, not sure why but kind of reminds me of Audubon's Birds of America.

Two similarities come to mind. Audubon would show multiple members of one species in different poses to show different parts of their bodies, and he put birds against a plain background.

Thanks, Mike. Much appreciated. Just showing-off with my new R7 and 100-500 IS L. Not enough colourful birds around here to compete with you experts.:-)

American kestrel. First time I’ve seen a falcon in my neighborhood, or photo’d one, for that matter.
I might have missed this beauty altogether except my chickens were hanging out in the backyard with me and suddenly they froze in their tracks. That behavior usually means there’s a raptor in the area.
I located the kestrel across the street and shot a few snaps as I approached, but she saw me and took off.

Here we have a Wonga Pigeon, a large rainforest pigeon, often found foraging on the ground on stocky pink legs.

#2 is an Eastern Yellow Robin, a frequently seen and inquisitive bird.

Both taken in the Lamington National Park.:-)

Cheers

Dennis
