In recent years, I've started liking photography in winter more than any other season. Today, though, was sunny and warm weather in the low '30's.... Just a splendid day.

Thank you, LD. I rarely post photos in this thread because my camera lacks the precision and range of the regulars' DSLRs, but at least I got the eye sharp that time.

Same here. I thought, wow, an avian hexapod, that must be a first.

Yep, you definitely got the eye sharp, and personally I think the entire image was very nicely photographed.

Many thanks Mike for your greetings and well wishes also your comments here and all through the year.
Trust you're relaxing today or at least from work and tedious stuff and not over indulging on matter that affects the body adversely
Everything in moderation they say

Rest assured the little wrens are in good care.
Growing teenagers can a bit of a handful at times though, seen here today, both landing together on dad's patch whilst he's trying to escape the post Christmas mayhem
Maybe they were scambling for a photo shoot when I mentioned your name :p

Some more from down under.:-)

#1 is the Bush Stone-curlew or Bush Thick-knee, a large ground- dwelling bird with a wingspan of 55-60 cm. They can live for 20 years, sometimes more. They are a terrestrial predator adapted to stalking and running. It is a striking bird with a striking call that is a haunting, wail like sound that rises with a slight quiver, dropping at the end and often repeated a number of times in quick succession.

#2 is a Crimson Rosella.

Both taken on a recent trip to the Lamington National Park.:-)

Cheers

Dennis
