If you come over to the east coast to Wakodahatchee in Delray Beach there are at least a dozen active nests going. Many with chicks.

The short wings are rounded. They forage on the forest floor scratching with their large, strong feet through the leaf litter. Adult Male birds have a grey face and sides, and are white underneath, with the Females having an orange-rufous throat. This Male posed nicely for me, out in the open, perched on top of a fallen branch. Usually, they are obscured by foliage and fallen branches as they scratch for food on the forest floor, using their broad tail as a prop with its obvious spines at the end. The Eastern Yellow Robin is in a typical pose, perched on the side of a tree on the look out for insects.
