A sandhill crane that I spotted coming out of the lake while riding my e-bike at Lake Myakka yesterday morning. He kept coming at me for a minute there. Made me a little nervous.

Nice capture! I saw my first ones last year, they are big birds and can make some pretty crazy noises too, sounded like something out of Jurassic Park.

Thank you! When I first moved to Florida I decided to sleep one cool night with just the screen window. That was a mistake. Two of them flew past the house early in the morning making their prehistoric sounds and it startled me, it was super loud. I woke thinking, "What the hell was that?!" I looked out the window really quick and caught them flying past. The windows have stayed closed ever since.
