This blackbird lives in our garden, under a hedge hence the high ISO. He ihas some white feathers, which apparently is not that unusual. Sadly, it seems that because he is "different" he is shunned by other blackbirds. Nature is a bit like human nature sometimes...

Nice one!

Many thanks, Mike!
I crossed a semi-frozen pond with snowshoes to get the shot.
He was trying to impress a potential mate nearby.
Cheers!

A sandhill crane that I spotted coming out of the lake while riding my e-bike at Lake Myakka yesterday morning. He kept coming at me for a minute there. Made me a little nervous.

Two nice ones!

Great close-ups!

Thank you! When I first moved to Florida I decided to sleep one cool night with just the screen window. That was a mistake. Two of them flew past the house early in the morning making their prehistoric sounds and it startled me, it was super loud. I woke thinking, "What the hell was that?!" I looked out the window really quick and caught them flying past. The windows have stayed closed ever since.

LOL

How do you expect me to ride that contraption?

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Maybe after a few million years those wings will grow fingers, hee-hee!

Thanks! I've only seen a few of these, and never got such close shots in the open.

Nice set, I really like #1, good focus/sharpness.

Thanks. I think the first might have a bit of motion blur. It came close in response to a call, but it was quite fidgety.
