What a wonderful capture, Paul! The adult bird is like a huge giant towering over the little ones. I'd almost think they'd be frightened of such a behemoth towering over them.:-)

Common Bronzewing [Phaps chalcoptera] is a medium sized pigeon found throughout most parts of Australia
It feeds on seeds and other vegetation, foraging on the ground and drinking water frequently.

Found on a back road in rather dark conditions today.
Beautiful birds that were once much more plentiful

The sound of them escaping in a flurry of wings is easily recognised if not observed
