That works. I was thinking he was a Jean-Claude Van Damme wannabe. Ha!

Nice capture Kirk.
That bird has some serious talent.:-P

Doesn't mind taking risks it seems, he must be very talented and confident.

I'm sure you've read that you should use a shutter speed at least equal to or above the length of the lens.

That is a very rough rule, and was formulated before there was 4 or more stops of image stabilization.

It is. But that's what you constantly read. It does not work for my setup handheld.

Wood Duck drake

Mike that's a very attractive shot. Beautiful composition.
The variations in water from fore to background is interesting & attractive.
They surely are beautiful ducks

Pigeon.

Beautifull pigeon and photo Ray
They're invasive here and one tends to look down on them, but they're lovely birds. Well ones like yours :-)

Blackbird stretching out.

Kirk this bird is now famous for it's antics with all the comments :-)
Amazing stance
Really beautiful images.

A red-winged black bird sings his morning song to me. Light was low for the big Tamron, so the ISO was a bit high.

Love the setting and the softness to the background.
Excellent composition.

Griffon and Cinereous vultures

Magnificent wildlife, nature photo.
You've captured that so beautifully Vassilis

She's probably thinking, "should I jump or not." What a sharp, crisp image, Richard! I'm always amazed (and jealous) at how sharp your images are.

Many thanks Mike. It's interesting watching them in that pose. You're probably on the money there
The light is very kind at moment. Our bright, harsh sun isn't the kindest on images

Richard

Yes, that's what we read, decades later, after a lot has changed. In the case of wxjef's shot, it was taken at 1/320, so with IS should have been OK. Focus might have gone to the background but it is not clear.
