Compound that with not really using gear for a while (somewhat new at that) and bad lighting conditions (was pretty overcast. I notice a lot of wonderful images throughout potn have pop to them and most I've ran through this box I call a computer are rather flat and dull no matter what I do to them. Incidentally I pulled up the dump of images from the outing and some did have some obvious motion blur in them. Still other images just seem off to me. Anyway guess if I want to continue with photography, perhaps I should look at some different tool in the digital darkroom. FWIW and the excellent advise given by Pippan notwithstanding, the digital darkroom tool you are using is a very good tool and as with any other tool it takes time to learn to use it well/easily. All of the stuff in my gallery here is processed with Darktable only. Most of the photos there only took a few minutes to process and most of that time is spent deciding on the crop!

sogs Goldmember More info | drsilver wrote in post #19490823 I read a piece somewhere in the past where the author was of the opinion that, from his vantage point, there are only 3 kinds of birds: Pigeons, Eagles and Little Brown Birds. In a few years of photographing birds, I've become more discerning than that, but not by much, and not today. And so, for your perusal, I offer a portrait of a Little Brown Bird. drsilver wrote in post #19490825 Two wonderful shots! I believe the first shot shows a pair of Mottled Ducks. Male is on the right. Thanks, I'm not good with duck ID's. Mottled, coddled, bottled, I don't know the difference. “You can’t stop what’s comin’; it ain’t all waitin’ on you—that’s vanity.” - Uncle Ellis
