Two more beauties, Cog! You really nailed these two shot of the Red-tailed Shrike! They are tack sharp and very lifelike.

Well Kirk...We do not have those ducks out here in California, and since I've never been to Florida, I'm going to take a guess and call them male and female Mottled Ducks. I pretty sure that's what they are. Very nice shot of the pair, and that is truly a lovely shot of the pied-billed grebe!

Incredible sharpness with this Pied heron close-up, Pipan!

Smashing capture of the juvenile Great Horned Owl, Paul! Terrific photography.

Lovely loon capture, Clough!

Two super nice captures Astoria! The colors possessed by the Purple Gallinule are simply amazing.

What a great capture this is, of the White-breasted Waterhen, RAL! It is definitely a smile shot!:-)

Thank you so much, LD.

Burrowing Owl - some interesting facts concerning this little owl.
Unlike most other owls, burrowing owls are diurnal, or most active during the day. They are very energetic, bobbing up and down when they perch.
They are the only small owl species to perch on the ground and are so terrestrial that when disturbed, they will often run or flatten themselves against the ground, rather than fly away.
